The magic of theatre enables young artists to transport themselves and their audience to another place. Participating in drama productions stimulates and nourishes inquisitive spirits, cultivates creativity and imagination, develops teamwork and leadership skills, and fosters positive self-esteem. Students also learn to trust their ideas and abilities as well as the value of practice and perseverance. The theater also teaches empathy and promotes compassion and tolerance for others since productions often focus on different situations, time periods and cultures.

At Sacred Heart School for the Arts, all students in Beginning, Intermediate and Youth Drama classes have the opportunity to participate in full-length, staged productions that are performed at the Ursuline Arts Center. Students in the fall and winter session of Beginning Drama produce a spring production. Students in Intermediate and Youth Drama each produce two shows a year.
