Maria Imorde Hampton ’65 is a recipient of the Spirit of Yes! award by Leadership Louisville for her can-do attitude and enthusiasm for the Greater Louisville community. Maria is the vice president and senior branch executive of the Louisville Branch, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

Sandy Duerr ’70 is the executive editor of The Tribune in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

Joan Elbert Herbig ’75 is a member of the University of Kentucky College of Engineering Hall of Distinction for her distinguished professional accomplishments, outstanding character and commitment to community service. She is the CEO of Control Scan.

Amy Underwood ’98 is a practicing pediatric psychiatrist at Prairie St. John’s Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.

Katie Hoy ’01 has been named a 40 Under 40 by “Business First” for being on the leading edge of her occupation and contributing her time and talent to community service. Katie is a data analyst for CRS Reprocessing in Louisville and an assistant coach for the state champion SHA swim team.

Kelly Allen ’07 is a Fulbright Scholar. Participants are chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential and have the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns. As a Fulbright Scholar, Kelly will travel to Panama in the coming year.

Cassidy Herrington ’08, a University of Kentucky journalism student, was named a national finalist in the prestigious Society of Professional Journalists’ Mark of Excellence Awards. Her column, “Undercover in hijab: unveiling one month later,” which appeared in The Kentucky Kernel¸ earned her the honor in General Column Writing category. Her article has been translated into Arabic, broadcast on a Palestine radio show, and reprinted in a Muslim fashion magazine. The column also won third place in the Hearst Journalism Awards Program.
