Dr. Beverly McAuliffe, Ed.D. Principal Dr. Beverly McAuliffe has been principal of Sacred Heart Academy since July 2001. Under her leadership, enrollment at the girls’ high school has increased 15%.
Dr. McAuliffe earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Brescia University. She received her master’s degree in English and her principalship certification from the University of Louisville. Her doctorate in Educational Leadership was earned at Spalding University. The focus of her dissertation was private school law.
Prior to Sacred Heart Academy, Dr. McAuliffe served as a K-8 principal for 14 years and as assistant principal and principal of Assumption High School and Holy Rosary Academy, respectively.
She is a member of Leadership Louisville (Class of ’88) and was named a Bingham Fellow. For several years, she served with the U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Schools Program as a report reader and a site visitor. Currently, she is a regional associate for the National Catholic Education Association. In 2000, she received the Louisville Archdiocesan Distinguished Principal Award and in 2007 was named an Outstanding Alumnus of Brescia University. Dr. McAuliffe is a cantor and Eucharistic minister at her parish church, St. Agnes.

 | Col. (Ret.) J. Michael Hardesty Assistant Principal Dean of Students Col. Mike Hardesty has served as the Dean of Students at Sacred Heart Academy since July 2001. He is responsible for student discipline, attendance, co-curricular activities, and safety and security. Col. Hardesty oversees and inspires students to create the numerous traditions which help define the character and personality of the school.
Col. Hardesty received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Eastern Kentucky University, master’s degree in management from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif., and his principal certification for instructional leadership from Spalding University. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and the United States Army War College where he was the first Army Fellow at the United States Institute of Peace. Col. Hardesty retired from the Army in 2000 after a 27-year career. He is an active member of St. Leonard Parish. |  | Sheila Huff Assistant Principal Dean of Studies Sheila Huff has been a member of the Sacred Heart Academy faculty since 1976. She is currently the Dean of Studies for the senior class. She is also responsible for the master schedule, the administrative database report cards, transcripts, and EdLine. Ms. Huff also serves as the technology director for the school and chairs the Sacred Heart Schools technology committee.
Ms. Huff received her bachelor’s degree in art from Morehead State University, a master’s degree in library science from Spalding University, and an education specialist degree in computerized instruction from Spalding University. In 1999, she received SHA’s prestigious Excellence in Teaching Award. |  | Amy Nall Assistant Principal Dean of Studies With 23 years in Catholic education, Amy Nall has been on the faculty of Sacred Heart since 2002 serving as English teacher and as chair of the English Department. She has been the Dean of Studies since 2004, acting as academic dean and director of curriculum.
Ms. Nall has a bachelor’s degree in English and education from Ball State University and a master’s degree in teaching, and her principal certification in instructional leadership from the University of Louisville, and is currently pursuing an Educational Specialist Degree at the University of Louisville.
Ms. Nall is a former adjunct instructor at Spalding University in the Education Department.
Ms. Nall and her family are active members of St. Agnes Parish.
